11:55 AM (AEDT): We are continuing to work on this and gathering all the appropriate information. We can confirm that a core piece of switching equipment had crashed and rebooted unexpectedly. We have created a critical TAC case with the vendor. We do not expect this to be an issue for the rest of today but we are looking at investigating why the outage was as severe as it was as some services unrelated to this infrastructure were impacted which should not have occurred. We apologise for the impact that this has caused and will be issuing a post incident review.
10:35 AM (AEDT): Services will be returning to normal. We have identified the issue as a core piece of infrastructure crashing and restarting. We are investigating further on why this has disrupted the network as severely as it did.
10:06 AM (AEDT): A major internet outage has been identified and we are currently investigating the cause.
